This is everything you need to start the install process for Linux on the PowerPC.
For most Powermac's copy the installer.coff file to a mac formatted floppy. Open Boot Variables and set it to:
fd:installer.coff
and hit write&reboot. This should take you into the installer. Give it a minute to load the file from floppy.
If you have a G3, you need to use the g3installer.coff
If you have a ATI video card, you might need to use the ATIinstaller.coff
You can find more documentation at http://www.linuxppc.org/install/
Best of luck with Linux!
